Ximena Gonzalez-Nuñez
Ximena is the Executive Director at TIPS. She holds a Masters of Commerce degree, specialising in Trade Economics. Ximena was previously at the Delegation of the European Commission to South Africa, where she started as their in-house economist and later moved on to become a Programme Officer for Local Economic Development.
Whilst at the Commission, Ximena was responsible for monitoring the design, implementation and evaluation of certain European Union-funded national and regional programmes related to trade and economic issues (including private sector and local economic development), as well as the formulation and adoption of certain Protocols within the SADC. Ximena was also responsible for analysing and reporting on developments within South Africa and the region, with specific focus on macroeconomic and trade-related issues, as well as science & technology, land reform and migration, amongst others.
